GMC has unveiled the new 2013 Acadia and Acadia Denali at the Chicago Auto Show.

First impressions are everything, and the 2013 Acadia was developed to make a strong one. A chiseled, three-bar grille sits prominently in the new, more upright design.

Diffused LED running lamps lend a premium look to the Acadia and are standard on all models, regardless of whether standard projector beam or optional HID headlamps are selected. New taillamp detailing reflects the advancements up front.

The new Acadia gets other subtle exterior design updates, including wrap-around rear glass and a new rear spoiler. New 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheel patterns complement the vehicleâ??s lines and stance.

The Acadiaâ??s refined interior uses upgraded soft-touch materials, with French stitching that adds a tailored look and red ambient light flowing across the dashboard. SLT and Denali models get aluminum accents on the center console, doors and dash.

Dodge working on 300-hp Dart SRT4

What happens when a Dodge meets an Alfa Romeo? The Dart, that's what happens. But as promising as Auburn Hills' new economy sedan is, what we're really looking forward to is what Ralph Gilles and company over at the SRT division can cook up. And the folks over at Motor Trend think they've got a pretty good idea of what to expect.

For the Dart SRT4, Dodge could go one of two ways: turbocharging the existing Tigershark 2.0-liter four, or shoehorning in the new all-aluminum 1.8-liter turbo four from Alfa Romeo. Since the latter would likely push the Dart SRT4's price up beyond $30,000 and competitive levels, the smarter money's on the former. But in order to compete with the likes of the Ford Focus ST and Subaru WRX STI â?? and outshine the 285-horsepower Caliber SRT4 it succeeds â?? we could be looking at nearly 300 horses under the hood.

Couple that with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (we'd still hope for a manual), upgraded rolling stock, brakes and suspension, and a more aggressive aero pack and we could be looking at one very mean pocket

Name The Next Jeep Grand Cherokee

Grab your chance in the Jeep® "NAME MY RIDE" contest for an opportunity to drive off in a new 2012 Grand Cherokee. Go on, get inspired. Check out the production-intent, concept vehicle's head-turning features. Create an original name for it. Then follow the simple steps to submit it - and even share it - for your chance to claim it.
We have to admit, we felt a pang of sympathy for the mighty GMC Sierra All Terrain Concept. While TheDodge Ramrunner and Ford F-150 SVT Raptor both held prominent spots in their respective booths at the2011 Detroit Auto Show, the Sierra All-Terrain Concept was tucked away in a corner all by its lonesome. It seems hardly a fair fate for a truck that boasts ground-stomping Fox Racing external bypass shocks, aggressive fender flares and a monstrous lift.

General Motors managed to yank a full 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque from the 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine nestled under the hood. That means that not only could you dominate any trail you set your mind to in this thing, you could also tow a full-size house along for the ride.

Unfortunately, it's unclear whether The General will be able to work up the gumption to actually produce such a truck. If it does make its way to the public sphere, odds are that the buildup would be handled by an external firm.
2012 Dodge Charger Redline

We have to hand it to Dodge for injecting an extra dose of octane-induced excitement into otherwise staid segments. Take the Charger, for example, that manages to give the full-size family sedan a muscle-car attitude. The new Dart promises to apply a similar formula to a smaller class, but while Dodge was busy lifting the veil on that Focus-sized sedan, Mopar was showcasing the modified Charger you see here.

The Charger Redline is actually made up of three kits: Stage One packs a full aero kit and 20-inch wheels; Stage Two gets a cat-back exhaust, suspension brace across the engine bay and upgraded brake linings; and Stage Three, which unfortunately isn't street legal, brings a 590-horsepower 426 Hemi V8 crate engine that's both lighter and a lot more powerful than stock.

The visual result certainly turns some heads, but whether those heads will like what they see once they've turned is a matter of taste. Check out our shots from the show floor and see for yourself â?? just watch your head on the demonstration-purpose jacked-up hood.

2013 Buick Encore

Buick used the bright lights of the Detroit Auto Show to unveil the 2013 Encore; a mite-sized crossover that will be smaller than other vehicles in its class. In fact, the Encore is only 168 inches long, and its wheelbase is only 104.8 inches across. Even with those diminutive proportions, the Encore still manages to house 48 cubic feet of cargo with the second-row seats folded flat. The front passenger seat also folds for additional storage.

Buick also worked hard to distinguish the cabin of the Encore, with active noise cancellation that General Motors design boss Ed Welburn claims will be among the quietest in its class. The Encore will also feature Buick IntelliLink, which includes a seven-inch LCD screen plus Bluetooth that works with smart phones for hands-free calling and access to Pandora and Stitcher.

The Encore will be powered by the same 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine currently under the hood of the Chevrolet Sonic and Cruze. The mini mill pumps out 140 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. That's not a lot of power, but keep in mind that the Encore rides on a revised version of the Chevy Sonic platform.
